Antique Blue Jasperware Wall Pocket Schafer & Vater Wedgewood Style Planter
Blue Jasperware Wall Pocket in the Wedgwood style.  It f
eatures a classical neoclassical motif of a
woman on a pedestal holding a ewer.
Measures about 7 1/2" tall and 3 3/4" wide.
Stamped "Made in Germany."  Impressed with numbers '2109.'
Most likely made by Schafer and Vater company operating in Thuringia, Germany in the early 1900’s.
They produced a very collectible line of wares resembling Wedgwood’s famous jasperware.  Jasperware is a finely ground stoneware that resembles porcelain bisque, stained with a colorful dye and decorated with white cameos in relief.
Very good condition with some roughness on one edge. (see last photo)  Clean inside.
