    Description

1797 Draped Bust Large Cent, no stems, reverse of '97, S-131, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Very Fine details, as is frequently graded for corrosion from 225 years or more of history.  And what history - Adams was President, maybe Washington himself if this was minted before March, and the Senate had 30 senators!  This 1797 cent, variety Sheldon-131, features the reverse of 1797, no stems for the wreath on the reverse (omitted for some reason but we can be sure management wasn't watching for that detail), a broken die cud in the 9 - 10 o' clock range and the beginnings of a vertical die break on the obverse characteristic of S-131, and an obverse die shift slightly to the right.  This combination of variety, errors, and strong VF-range details (such as the denticles on both sides!) accounts for its value.  Do check over other S-131s for sale to see the die similarities and progression, as well as comparison shop!  With NGC providing the authentication and grading you need for peace of mind and surety, we offer this special and exclusive scarce
    Early American large cent
    for your collecting.
